We are a loving group of women who enjoy generating ringing chords and close 4-part harmony with nothing else but our very own voices. We enjoy learning about vocal techniques, presentation skills, and how to marry the two in order to give our audience the complete barbershop experience.

As a member of the SouthCity Soundz Chorus, you will have the opportunity to perform in public – we have appeared in many venues from band rotundas to churches, from country market places to town halls.
SouthCity Soundz Chorus is based in East Tamaki, Auckland.

Angela began her barbershop career as a Young Women In Harmony participant at the tender age of 13, singing Bass in the Macleans College "Stars In Stripes" girls' barbershop chorus.
She continued singing during her university years, joining the Greater Auckland Chorus. She became a front row member of the chorus, and began to take on leadership roles such as the Bass section teacher, Music Team member, Choreography Team member, and became the general technical support person for the chorus.
She has sung Bass in two quartets: "Shine", and "Quintessence". Quintessence competed at the 2006 New Zealand contest and came 11th overall.
Angela became the director of SouthCity Soundz in late 2006. In October 2007, she competed as a dual member of Christchurch City Chorus at the International Sweet Adeline Competition. She is proudly sporting a 9th place medal - the first chorus in the Southern Hemisphere to ever achieve a top-10 placement.
